I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day and The First Noel

Below you will find links that lead to an amazing practice tool published by the church. If you are new to this, I have a couple of tips:

1) After clicking on the link below, a page with the song will come up. Below the words "auto scroll" you will find two TABS labeled PARTS and AUDIO.

2) By clicking on the PARTS tab you can adjust the volume levels of the different voiced parts. If you were practicing the alto line for example, you could turn all other parts down except for the alto part to just hear your section. As you practice over time, you can gradually adjust the other voiced parts louder and louder to see if you can still sing your part with the other voices being played.

3) By clicking the AUDIO tab, you can select the music to be played with music and parts, just music or words and music.

4) The play button (triangle button) will always play from the beginning of the song. If you wish to start from a different part in the song, simply click on the note where you wish to start and it will begin automatically.

CANTICLE OF COMFORT

Hello Parkland Ward Choir Members! If you are reading this, that means you are about to check out your electronic "study" helps for your homework assignment this week. Hooray and thank you! Please remember to learn your parts by NEXT practice (Sept. 15).

Disclaimer: This is my first time recording choir music and I had very little of uninterrupted time to do it. In fact, tenors, I hope you enjoy Charlotte asking for a drink of water in the middle of your track (like I said, very little uninterrupted time). Sopranos, I apologize that the accompaniment is so quiet. I'm sure I'll get better and better as time goes on.

Suggestion: Maybe while driving in the car you can pull this up on your mobile device and sing or hum along while you drive. There is a lot to be said about muscle memory so keep listening to it even if you think you're not picking it up. I promise you are!

Trouble shooting - If you can't hear the music, you'll need to ENABLE YOUR FLASH PLAYER. Honesty, I don't know how to do that, but find a 14 year old somewhere and I'm sure they can help you.
